Dr Melanie Tan Mei Ying is a Senior Consultant Geriatrician in Singapore with extensive experience in geriatric medicine. A graduate of Monash University in Australia, she completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine at National University Hospital in Singapore.
Dr Tan holds Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in the UK and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. She also developed innovative geriatric programs such as the HOME (Help Optimise and Mobilise Elders) unit and the Elder Bundle to promote elderly mobility and independence. Widely recognised for her compassionate and holistic care, she currently serves as Vice President of the Society for Geriatric Medicine, Singapore.
At The Straits Geriatrics Centre, located at Gleneagles Medical Centre with community outreach at Toa Payoh Community Clinic, Dr Tan delivers personalised, multidisciplinary geriatric care tailored to each individual’s physical, cognitive, and emotional needs. Her services include comprehensive assessments for falls, frailty, memory, functional and medication reviews, as well as therapy coordination, nursing support, home visits, and telehealth.
